Texas Real Estate Commission Standards of Practice (Sections 535.227-535.233) define the minimum requirements for real estate inspections. Systems and components are evaluated using normal controls to provide information regarding the general condition of a residence at the time of inspection.

Swimming Pool / Spa Inspection

4-Point inspection
Some insurance companies require a four-point inspection prior to insuring a home. A four-point inspection is a very limited inspection and is not related to a real estate transaction. The inspection focuses on four main systems: Electrical; Plumbing, Roof; and Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning. The inspection is not nearly as comprehensive as a residential home inspection complying with the Texas Real Estate Commission Standards of Practice. |
